Do you have a child that struggles with comprehending what they read? Many kids have trouble remembering what they read. This is most true when they are just beginning to learn to read. It is just temporary so there is little need to be overly concerned. What happens is when they begin to read they are focusing only on reading the words and not comprehension. This causes their reading to be choppy like a robot would talk. The cure for this is to just keep practicing on their reading. With the practice their words will become more smooth and comprehension will soon follow. Take turns reading pages with your child. This will give them a good sense of how their reading should flow. Keep praising them for all their hard work and stick with it.
