Summer is a great time to enjoy the outdoors. Especially if you live in an area that actually has seasons. Those who live in places that have winter, welcome the outdoors as much as we welcome a juicy steak. During the summer months your child should still read, but it needs to be fun for them. They need to be able to enjoy the books they are reading. While some kids are harder to get motivated to read than others, for the most part once they sit down and start reading, they will enjoy it very much. Just a quick update on the comic book category of the website. It is nearing completion and will be launched to the public on Thursday, June 17, 2010. Come and checkout our great selections.
Well, summer is now upon us and school has let out for the year. How much will your child read each week? Will your child read this summer or is it a time to rest the brain? We certainly don't want to rest, as this will cause your child lose what they learned during the school year. Your child needs to stay sharp by reading. You do not want your child to spend the beginning of the next school year catching up with the others who read in the summer. You don't need to go crazy on reading, but your child should a minimum of 20 minutes per day. That is only 2 hours per week. It is fine to take a day or 2 off during the week. Just be sure that taking days off does not become a habit. In conclusion, we would just like to give a quick update that we reported last week. The comic books category is still under construction, but should be completed by the end of the month. Stay tuned for more updates as they become pertanent.
It is just about summer time. This is a time for relaxing and enjoying the good weather. It is also a time to soak up some good reading. Don't let the summer slip by without reading a few good books. Most local libraries have a reading program geared for kids. They also give out prizes to those children who spent quality time with their books. This is a great way to keep reading all summer long. The added bonus in it for you is that it is FREE!
With May being in our sights, this means that the end of the school year is approaching. While it is nice to relax during the summer vacation, it is very important that kids continue to read. Whether they are beginning readers or more advanced in their teen years. It is still necessary to read on a daily basis. The summer months can prove how fun it is to read. Instead of having to read all of your school books, you can pick something that you really enjoy, relax and read. Share your thoughts and opinions with us here on this blog.
Summer is quickly approaching and with that comes the end of the school year. It can be very easy to give in and give your kids a break from books for the summer. While they do deserve a break, the entire summer is much too long to go without picking up a book. A short break is all that they need. One day they may actually thank you for it.
