If you are going to be a reader in life, is it predetermined? Can you be trained to develop an interest in reading for the rest of your life? If these are questions that you have asked yourself, read on.

If you happen to have a child that just does not want to read no matter what you have tried, it is time for a little unconventional approach. We have all heard of training our kids to be polite or to clean their rooms. So why not train them to read. Reading is a skill that will last for a life time.

Getting your child started in the training will be the most challenging task. You may ask where to start at to begin the training. Where to go for training in reading? Well, you do not have to go any where. It can all be done from the comfort of your own home. This will ease the frustration since there are no evaluations to go through. You do not have to search for a trainer as you will be your child's trainer. This way you do not have to rely on the opinion of someone who knows nothing about your child.

To begin your training first set a schedule. A short amount of time that can be devoted to reading. When just getting started it does not have to be an extended amount of time. You are training them to read, this means as long as they read something you are on the right track. The reading material can be any thing. A newspaper, magazine article or really any thing you can think of. The key here is to be consistent and read everyday.

Once your child gets used to the fact that they will be reading every day, it will eventually become second nature to them. Gradually increase the length of time that your child reads. Keep it fun for them by letting them have some input in to what they are reading. Do not be in too big of a hurry for them to read an entire book. This will come in time. Many parents get frustrated when they try to push to hard. As long as they are reading every single day, they are working towards their goal.

Above all else, compliment and encourage your child as this will build their self esteem and make reaching their goal much easier.
